In Maldon Today Poem by Francis Duggan

In Maldon Today

The sun shining bright in a sky blue and gray
And the blackbirds are singing in Maldon today
Such beautiful weather of scarce any breeze
With a temperature high of eighteen degrees
The wattle trees cloaked in their bright yellow flowers
And the high country looking green after the recent showers
With such beautiful weather seems hard to complain
Such great gifts to Nature are sunshine and rain
When the wild-born nesting birds chirp, whistle and sing
Maldon is a beautiful place in the early Spring
The warbling song always so pleasant to hear
Of the magpies who sing every day of the year
Earthly Utopia it cannot be far away
From Maldon on this beautiful September day.
