In Maldon On Good Friday Poem by Francis Duggan

In Maldon On Good Friday

In the blue sky woolly looking cumulus of gray
The sun it is shining on Maldon today
Few shops open for business on Good Friday in the Mt Alexander Town
On the main street few cars or trucks drive up and down
In late Autumn in Maldon a nice time of year
Old March is at an end and April is near
Though close enough to the prime of the southern calendar Fall
On the deciduous trees as of yet few brown leaves at all
At most times in Maldon the weather is fine
Mt Tarrengower beautiful and peaceful in the afternoon sunshine
The day rather calm with only a slight breeze
With a forecast high of a pleasant twenty degrees
In the Town of Maldon people to be seen
Though many shops and businesses closed on Good Friday twenty eighteen.
