In Memory Poem by Richard Wlodarski

In Memory

In Memory

Now walking in your shoes today
I have something I wish to say:
My eyes see the evil you saw
My ears hear their screams
My nose smells their flesh burning
My mouth tastes their starvation
My hands touch the Face of God

Now you walking in my shoes today
You have something you wish to say:
My eyes still see the evil you once saw
My ears still hear the screams you once heard
My nose still smells their burning flesh
My mouth still tastes their starvation
My hands don't touch the Face of God

Now God walking in our shoes today
The Creator now has something to say:
Satan sees the evil you saw and still see
He hears the screams of such great agony
He smells the burning flesh of his enemy
Satan tastes starvation and such poverty
His bloodied hands never touch Face of One God

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
May we all walk in their shoes, so that we can all learn from the lessons of history that evil may conquer life, but never Spirit.
