Damn with your today, damn with the days to come,
Take me to my past, to the time, I had so awesome.
There was a girl I loved, the girl was like a hurricane,
She swept me off my feet, ran over me like a train.
She was crazy; she was warm, sweet as a sugarcane,
Her heart breathed in my chest; she was such a chum.
Damn with your today, damn with the days to come,
Take me to my past; to the time, I had so awesome.
She would phone at middle of day, waiting in my office lane,
She would hug me as I came, drive me like she was in reign
To the malls, to the stalls, to cinema halls for fun.
Damn with your today, damn with the days to come,
Take me to my past; to the time, I had so awesome.
When I was sick, she did the trick, she wore the gown of a nurse,
For days together the, role of a wife did she as if rehearse,
She lay awake for my sake, when sleepy so much was mum.
Damn with your today, damn with the days to come,
Take me to my past; to the time, I had so awesome.
She squeezed every drop from the life as if it was a lemon,
She shunned dark, she loved the spark, our life was like a heaven,
When she took the journey final, I was so numb, so dumb.
Damn with your today, damn with the days to come,
Take me to my past; to the time, I had so awesome.

A beautiful love poem, well articulated and nicely penned from the heart. Death is a bad reaper often going after unripe fruits. A lovely memorial indeed. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
