In Reflection, In Reclusion Poem by Khairul Ahsan

In Reflection, In Reclusion

Rating: 5.0

Some teardrops are meant to be shed
Sombrely
Softly,
Silently,
Secretly.

In solemnity,
In sobriety,
In reflection,
In reclusion.

No one can be a witness
To these dropping tears.
No one,
Never the one for whom they are shed.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Moreover, neither the comments, nor the replies thereto, appear until 24 hours have elapsed since submission. It has made the poetry site extremely lousy. Only yesterday, a poem selected as the 'Member Poem of the Day' had a spelling error in the very caption. It seems, there is nobody in the site to take care of these things, and the selections are made at random, whimsically.

Thanks for your detailed analysis and appraisal of the poem, @Valsa George. I am honored to have you here, and get your generous rating. Just now I have read and commented on your limerick 'Culprit'. As you said in your comment on the poem, I too am finding it increasingly difficult to comment on fellow poets' poems, as the reply box in the comments area doesn't have a 'submit' button.

Sorrow that cannot be shared with anyone and tears silently shed are the signs of the deepest kind of sorrow. It can be over many things. They can be tears of repentance, of hurt from someone, of helplessness, on failure or the tears shed over the loss of someone dear. Such personal grievances lying frozen inside get thawed sometimes and flow out in silence without being invited! A very emotive and touching write! A sure 10

Oh, how terribly personal and sad but true. The deepest, most painful tears are always those you must cry alone. I have never read such a delicately sad and tenderly piercing poem as this.
