In Search Of…it Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

In Search Of…it

There is something missing...
for some reason I am incomplete
What is the certain something
that apparently has never been
Will I recognize it when it greets?

It has mysteriously passed me by
without a glimmer of being seen
Was I day-dreaming... looking
in the wrong direction…distracted
while it vanished from the radar screen

Maybe I was the one who passed it by
It is worth a slim chance…I'll retrace
I put my forward search in reverse
I see a face that seems vaguely familiar
Recognition questions at first glance

Stopping and sitting down to ponder
Feeling a calm and warming glow
As if to say...where have you been
Thoughts seem to verbalize effortlessly
The void inside of me no longer grows
