In The Cathedral Of Our Feeling

in the cathedral of our feeling
they have shattered the rose windows
so that real roses weep
even without
dew or rain

because the gargoyles
have come inside
filling the beautiful air with

mere vacuity;
sifting all colors through
a darkening sun.

because they have taken our
purest shadows and
sewn them together so

that we cannot move-

our hearts will launch
into dazzling light
by the Holy Spirit stirred-

undeterred
