In The Eye Poem by Deluke Muwanigwa

In The Eye

Rating: 5.0

In The Eye.

Eyes are not just odd looking orbs
They mirror a persons demeanor
If they hate an eyelid will not bate
If there's love you feel welcome.

Eyes will show someone's lies
Or tell the full truth
Yet others hide lies by crying.
Some hide power in colour

Hues of blue expressing serenity
Brown seeming darker in a frown
Black seems to lack empathy
Green beautiful with a grin.

And, yet at school, like a fool
They didn't tell you the whole tale
That eyes can speak without speech
And are not just an organ for organisms to see.

When you face an opponent opposite you
It is prudent to expect them to be impudent
The golden rule is to act cool
And never look an irate opponent in the eye.
