In The Eyes Of My Reflection - Poem by Rebecca Williams

The image appears distorted,
broken and shattered
and yet the glass remains intact
Within that silver pool
I can see the crumbling shards
of the person that once was
The likeness within that metal
polished, cold and cruel,
no longer embodies the soul within
Long past are the days
that I could gaze into my mirror
and not see brutal pain
In the eyes of my reflection
