In The Grey Zone Of My Life Poem by Mohammad Younus

In The Grey Zone Of My Life

In the grey zone of my life,
I sit beneath the Bodhi tree,
listening to echoes of the Buddha—
a call that transcends time.

To seek enlightenment,
I shed the patched frock of desire,
relinquishing each threadbare longing,
chasing out illusions' pain.
In the light of my True Self, I believe.

Under your tutelage, I learn
to still the clamor of my false self,
as the authentic voice within
awakens and speaks truth.
