Age it makes no difference
nor wealth nor status
no health regime can stop it
no diet, to deny its coming
there is an injustice in life
which hurts so many
those illnesses abundant
ripping apart lives
to many to list here
cancer, dementia
the leading candidates
depression, anxiety
heart disease
it all seems endless
and still, still we carry on
living, fighting
alone and with each other
true love is found
in the kindness of another
