In The Marketplace Poem by Akham Nilabirdhwaja Singh

In The Marketplace

In the market place
from a woman vegetable vendor
a bazaar cow snatched away a big mustard plant.

She shouted to the cow,
rebuked it with foul words she could muster
while It relishing the loot.

An old wavering street dog resting yonder
in a shading corner
of the marketplace
looked with envy at the youthful cow.

A not uncommon scene in a market place made interesting through keen observation and beautiful diction!
