In The Midst Of Pretense Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

In The Midst Of Pretense

Having wealth.
And impressive 'things',
To use and give image.
With the symbolizing of it.
Continues to prove to those 'unimpressed',
That money to have and things to 'bling'...
Possessed.
Has yet been able to address,
One's lack of class.
And the absence of common sense.
Distanced from one who has not had this.
Or the presence of intelligence.
Even in the midst of pretense,
The obviousness of what's missing...
No one has to ask to be made convinced of it.
Since the abundance of ignorance in the air,
Just can not be avoided!
