If I can follow in your footsteps,
Then I'll not go far wrong,
For the kindness you gave,
Will always live on,
To just be like you,
As I go through my day,
Going out of my way.

To be generous and kind,
Like the way that you were,
Always ready,
With a sympathetic ear,
Giving advice so precious and dear,
To be there when needed most.

I remember your sayings,
They made me feel strong,
I'll hold them in mind,
And carry them on,
For they are the words,
That have helped me move on,
You taught me to live without you.
