Indeath - Poem by Donald Yates

In Death
Wandering minds misty swirl
Tumbling down spiral stair
Bodies held in captured pose
recast forms ponderous lair.
Sightless eyes staring gaze
soundless lips trembling still
breathless humans in a row
stirring on without will.

Silent time slipping by
endless searching's living end
Tears are cast by those who morn
departed soles once called friend.

'1993'
