Indian democracy is mother to none
But everyone claims rights
Nobody is behind
But the system is very kind

Not the illiterates alone
But the educated too have gone
Beyond the limits and used it to their advantage
The poor and downtrodden have faced only a sharp edge

Even politicians have violated norms
And behave as if they are ill-informed
Take pretext under the loopholes
And corrupt the system as a whole

The judiciary to have remained lenient
The politicians try to present
As if they are the saviours of the constitution
And subvert it at the cost of a nation

They knock the judiciary atmidnight
To protect the terrorist
Against the death sentence
This makes the system very much tense

Justice is not delayed
But people are dismayed
Over the long time pendency
And this proves as the death-knell for democracy
