Bright orange fur
arched back slow step
crab walk
shuffle shuffle crab walk
open air barrier
complete stop sniff
deep breath
closing door prompts
step back yawn back roll
linoleum linen

Although this is a beautiful tribute to the cat, I'm also viewing it as a political satire of the rat. I love stretching mine imagination in reading and writing poetry!
Thank you, Richard. O yes, I had quite a few metaphors in mind when I was watching this cat trying to interact with the threshold to 'freedom.' There is and was a rat in this for sure! Thanks so much, Richard.
