Innocent Flags Of America Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Innocent Flags Of America

Innocent flags of America, being blown by a gentle afternoon
breeze, bothering no one, asking for nothing, seemingly wait-
ing to be honored and pledged to by Veterans and Americans.

Doing nothing at all to cause racism, intolerance or prejudice,
just dutifully flying across our nation on individual poles
everywhere.

Not to be abused, burned, torn, by those who care nothing for
our soldiers who've fought and died for our country, in the
end flags laid upon their coffins showing our highest regards
to thank them for their service, innocent flags of America.
