Innocent Man Poem by Dorsey Baker

Innocent Man

He did all that time
yet he never did
that crime
after a long string of appeals,
he is free,
Innocent man
Innocent man

So many years
behind the bars
the shame
the loneliness
the scars,
Innocent man
Innocent man

Many years later
they found the gun
proving he was
not the one,
Innocent man,
Innocent man

After a long string of appeals,
he is free,
his body is out of prison,
but his mind will never be
