Inside The Shell Poem by M. Asim Nehal

Inside The Shell

Rating: 5.0

Lying lifeless on the shore of a beach
I wonder who used me as protection

On million waves, I travelled across
The journey very few will understand

The heat of the sand is no better
Than the darkness of the sea

Is this my destiny, lying on the seashore and
Waiting for someone to pick me up

I don't mind if put in a fish pot
Inside, someone's house

Pick me up, and listen to me.
I want you to hear my wants and desires.

A great marine analogy to the carapace we all use for protection. And then, I think about all the little creatures of this earth, and Earth itself, how cruelly is made to sustain life: life for life, So unfair!
