Insomnias Bite Poem by Matthew Holloway

Insomnias Bite

Rating: 4.5

at night it comes
while all else sleep
thoughts creep in
shaded in the dark
crouching in shadows
their intentions unclear
lacking any motive
sleep appears impossible
while tiredness grows
eyes open feel heavy
aches pass over the body
times passes slowly
a clock turned to face away
no need to watch
the silence of the room
passing noise outside
a mind wide awake
unable to switch off
at night it comes
insomnias bite
