Instead... - Poem by Floyd Silvershine

I took the sunlight from the Heavens
And made some touches with my hand
Let shining memory be your hair,
First trace of picture on the sand.

I took the deep blue from the oceans,
The clearest water down the ice
I want this water be your substance
I want this water be your eyes.

I took the snow from the Sacred Mount
Which stays, all sparkling, day and night,
Please wear this beauty free of doubt
And just come down on me tonight.

The snow dress, blues, and golden sunlight,
Assembled feelings on the sand,
Are almost marvelous and perfect…
I wish I could have you instead.
