Institutionalized Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Institutionalized

Lies, deception.
And the selling of false beliefs.
Rumors to gossip.
With a doing as if professionally.
Done to whisper in ears secretly.
And told to pledge,
An allegiance to a kept loyalty.

Institutionalized!
Minds become,
Faithful to an ignorance.
Too embedded.
For the ones stung to a numbness done.

Institutionalized.
Brainwashed and hyped on propaganda.
Yet no one seems,
That stunned to have been dumbed down.
And left to care less,
That little is left of their consciousness.
Or thoughts to think.
In fear this process,
Will leave them suspected...
Of betrayal, treason and being,
Threats and unpatriotic to nonsense.
