Interaction Between People Makes Us Human Poem by Terence George Craddock

Interaction Between People Makes Us Human

all continents world massive land masses
have shrink into instant cellphone distances
instant computer global internet distances
with global satellites there are no distances
no communication delay delay distances
no inconvenient post telegraph distances
jet aircraft fast cut slow sky distances
container transport ships cut salt sea distances

to be an island unto yourself is completely impossible
in an age of global high tech communication travel toys
you would have to be completely independent of any all
outside influence of any all kinds this includes incomes
the purchasing of shelter clothing food payment utilities
the complete absence of interaction makes you an island

an island of one no family no friends no associations
is not human is not humanity has no future possibilities
no procreation no interaction speech is solitary insanity

human beings are social animals a basic family unit
tribe community society must provide food shelters
for babies children society is social or will not exist
