Intervention Poem by Lauren Coles

Intervention

Mental illness is hard to detect,
People might seem fine on the outside,
But people might be suffering from the stroms of life,
People often don't know what resources are available because they are too lazy to look,
People tend to take the easy way out and hurt people,
The people that you hurt may have dreams and families,
Drugs may be calling your name,
They are ghosts that slowly suck the life out of you,
Your family has to suffer,
You can go to counseling and write down your feelings,
Time behind bars will make you realize what's important in life,
You have no do overs in this life so make you make the most of it.
