Invinsible Glass Poem by Dakota Ellerton

Invinsible Glass

I stood there subconciousley,
as you walked through the doors.
My heart fell to my feet,
as I realized what was going on.
Although I was looking at the wrong one,
she was still by your side.
I felt nauseous and ashamed,
with every glance you gave me.
It was sickening.
You looked through me like stainless glass,
stainless, but not invincible.
I cringed as my hands started to tremble,
as I held my breath, I prayed.
Had I known down the road,
you would call me not by my name.
I’d of given everything to that moment.
Still I do not return there,
the mention of it brings tears to my eyes.
To know you’d act as though I didn’t exhist,
make me wonder why I still do.
