Invisible - Poem by Amanda Schmidt

So close, yet so far away
I reach out to you every day
But I'm not here, or so you think
I can't believe that I'm so weak
I saw your face, you stole my heart
I heard your voice, I fell apart
I can't breathe with you right here
You're everything that I hold dear
The irony is, you're not mine
My friends all say, 'these things take time'
Though I wonder if it'll be today
When I come up to you and say......
Nevermind, forget about me
I almost forgot that you can't see
I'm invisible, didn't you know?
This is just how these things go.
