Iraq War Syllogism - 17 Poem by Raj Dronamraju

Iraq War Syllogism - 17

17

After bringing the dictator to trial
After killing his evil sons - the one who liked to torture women and the one who ran the torture centers
The one thing that would make sense from your twisted perspective is to continue down the list

Continue down the list
Because this is not a world bereft of evil leaders
And when you speak of regime change as the second reason why you did this (the first having been proven incorrect)
And you speak of democracy finally coming to the Middle East
You must also acknowledge all other places in the world that need regime change
All the other places that have so far been resistant to democracy
And if I may lift your argument with the buoyancy of consistency
It would make sense to go to all these other countries too

All the other countries
Who do not have oil or other valuable natural resources
Who are not strategically important; whose geography is not the mid-point between the USA and a future target
But who suffer in brutality under dictatorships

It must follow based on your latest rationale
That you are going to liberate the all these other places next
I'll be watching to see if you do this
I'll be watching
