Irresistible Poem by Soumili Karmakar

Irresistible

The colour of the sunbathing hills are living through ages before,
The ride from boughs to the sky is completed by little Siberian wings in rows.
Their tails and feathers embracing the breezes of wintry days
India, they named home
All in their loving ways.

Distance was covered and they loved to feel their mother's love by flying over oceans.
Once reached,
Then sheltered with care and affection
This is what they learnt from her
All above in colours of devotions.

The whistle of the cuckoo from the forest so far,
The love of winter felt by wools weaven for warmths.
Sitting near the willow tree and searching for your hands.
Was it not you, who lived in this land?

In winter's the days were short
She had some work left, before she thought to start.
But she had to see you
Where she Promised to return Everytime near your window
Was what she said to me, when I asked.

This made us rise with beating hearts,
The morning was awake, so were all seasons on earth.
How long I've desired to see this face of thee.
You shall know, if you felt the misty air loving those trees.
Oceans caressing essences of waves
Where it lived and breathed all his days.

Their wishes to see the Eclipse sun,
Where I looked at the tides in run,
And caught the sun still lighting the whole world,
Though he was behind the moon,
Melting in his arms.

The iceberg in Antarctica looked at the sun too,
And sun in return shared his rays on you.
I saw you there,
I still see you here.
How could I tell you were cherry in golden flames, apart the whole fair?

Stars all over the night sky
I see,
How bright it shined for the world to call it, as being one as we.
Eras passed and hues remained
In hearts of us,
Don't you think it is all the same?

Voices of leaves speaking during evenings,
And us walking together under the shades of trees.
Time is fleeting with titles of different names,
Here we walk under the moonlight and stare at stars living years in midnight frames.
