Is Love Enough.
Is love enough.?
When trust is dying.
Online, whats app, then denying.?
I leave the room and go to bed
there's niggling inside my head
I check my phone and there he is
Online, whats app, messaging
He hadn't noticed me at first
then got a fright when I appeared.
Chucked down his phone, the look of fear.
Online, whats app, messaging.
Returned to bed I check again,
Yep! There he is online again.
Moments later he comes on up,
I check once more, no sign is up.
I couldn't sleep, my stomachs sick
I don't understand what this kind of love is.
My trusty, my lover, my best friend, no other.
A love once shared, lies now in the gutter.
Trust is the food of love. Without it love withers as resentment grows. This is a powerful piece, Annette. You have expressed your situation very well indeed. Tom
Love and pain! Trying to gather up the pieces. Thanks for sharing.
A beautifully straightforward statement of the pain caused by betrayal and the denial of love.
My trusty, my lover, my best friend, no other. A love once shared, lies now in the gutter. A very painful experience expressed in simple words. love, trust, faithfulness, joy of being in love- - all these have become foreign words in the life of many in the present day. values change, ideas change.. thank you for this poem.. tony
