Is Something There? Poem by soren Barrett

Is Something There?

I've felt this before, something vaguely familiar behind that door
a mist that comes and goes, hands of fading time little pieces shows
mottled darkness of the mind where recognized shadows in shades I find
covered in bloodied, muddied waters as back to black I turn blind

In the deep I feel things that creep odors shadows from the past
wafting smells some that dwells so few pleasant fragrances that last
Sensations of shivered vibrations, prickling skin, hair raising
A puff of wind, a button unpinned, flickering lights now blazing
