Is This Life? Poem by ANJANDEV ROY

The loving father decided to stay at home
In the birthday party of his sweet daughter
And to enjoy the day with great spirit and enthusiasm,
But he received an urgent telephone call from his office boss
And he had to go to the office soon,
When he returned home in the late evening,
He found his daughter had already fallen asleep.
"Is this life? " he murmured in deep pain and frustration,
"Yes, this is the truth of life, " someone answered from behind;
As he looked back, he saw the big doll
Which he had brought as the birthday gift for his beloved daughter,
The doll seemed to laugh at him with its naughty eyes,
In an uncontrollable rage he threw the doll in the remote corner.
