It - Poem by Kaia Gronnbeck

Cruel beyond words
IT breaks the surface
Filling my stomac
Filling my chest
My lungs
My throat
My Head

Choking me
Burning me
Eating away at my mind

Subsiding for a while
Waves are calming
The ocean is quiet
Lurking beneath the black water
For the next wind
To come along
To whip up a new storm
To release IT from its depth
Enabeling it once more
To wreak havoc on an unprotected mind

IT is powerful and menacing. Run, run away! (Report) Reply

What's IT that gnaws inside us to break through all barriers and fill our being?
    I am touched.
