'It can not get any worse than this! '

I've heard that expressed many times,
Over the years.
And over the years...
Worse it gets.
As if the worse of it,
Is being monitored by those...
Who are closely watching and placing bets.

It is similar to the calls for unity and peace.
If this is not done periodically,
People feel there is something missing.
Like a Sunday that passes...
Without hypocrisies and stated faith,
From lips being released.
We are a society of steadfast procrastinators.

'It can not get any worse than this! '

Some say that as if they are impatiently waiting.
Hoping and praying to proclaim themselves as witnesses.
