It Caught Us Unaware Poem by Phil Soar

It Caught Us Unaware

It caught us unaware, while all was peaceful everywhere
And then, like some storm we couldn't stop
One by one we began to drop
Then terror took a deadly hold
Left our feelings somewhat cold
And while we put a plan together
It swept the globe, like the wildest weather
And as circumstances worsened around the globe
We needed a safety net, a robe
That we could wrap around our world
As the human sacrifices unfurled
And 6 months on from the first infection
Our poor reaction needs inspection
It's won't be the last Pandemic sight
There will be more that we must fight
