It feels like a pause
As my life waits for the past to catch up
And the present to fully engage
To inner truths that our souls know
But our mind doesn’t recognise fully
So at this pause
Where past and present converge
A rich tapestry of feelings
With rays of hope, repose
Waiting for the dam to fill
And on reaching fullness
Will the floodgates open
Will life, burst forth
Sweeping away the past debris
And finding a new path ahead
Treasures too it will carry
To the next destination I’m told
But for now
I wait for the pause
To quietly unfold
The pause...the present moment we need to live in and need to respond to if we are to be fully alive...
This is a superb blend of spiritual truth-seeking and personal angst. Waiting for ' The present to fully engage/To inner truths that our souls know/But our mind doesn’t recognise fully' is brilliant - as is the clear structure and language of this fine poem. love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
