It Is To Love Poem by Matthew Holloway

It Is To Love

It is to love I awaken
As it was to which I slept
To dream and to aspire
To live and face death
It is love I cry
And weep and cheer
It is the reason I write
And sing and recite
It is all, everything
And yet it is nothing
But a word spoken
A thought, an idea
Four letters so powerful
They make all men weak
Some shall kill for it
Others will rise
And make great gestures
To the world and to time
It is to love
I find my teachings
My betterment
My reason for being
The truth of what is
A human being
