I've Nowhere To Go Poem by Mark Heathcote

I've Nowhere To Go

Drag me over the coals.
I want to burn to a cinder.
And I won't even need air
To breathe your fire

Graft me like a sultry red rose.
To your frame
At least until the end of tomorrow,
So I can flower.

Darling, I've nowhere to go.
I've discovered my Eden,
Oh, darling, you've reached
Under the walls of my skin.

And entwined the brambles within
And darling disarmed my knight's arms.
Darling, I know it's you.
Hold my heart in a moment I'm about to drown in.

Oh, I'm a cinder on the breeze
I'm a red rose
A fire lightning
With you knows how the glows.
