when artists walk away from fan critic public
eye spaces store mind muse creativity in wall
safe spaces throw away magic key to public
accessibility nothing shared proves the lie
to nothing created sterility it is only sharing
which is chosen as decision undesired liability
J. D. Salinger who wrote the famous novel
'The Catcher in the Rye' in 1951, wrote at least
another 15 novels Salinger never published?
just wrote and kept in a safe
why was Salinger afraid of critics
was Salinger afraid of failure?
is it myth is it true
is it myth another 15 novels is it true
is it true is it myth
my money is on myth
myth for publicity sales
myth didn't get it done
why after a considered
examination of evidence
Salinger only published
one novel 'The Catcher in the Rye'
plus three novellas the rest
all short stories all published
from 1944 until 1965
then Salinger is dead in 2010
no second novel aged 91
'Hapworth 16,1924'
published in The New Yorker
in 1965 is short fiction
as for the 15 unpublished novels
like the Loch Ness Monster
they might or might not exist?
Salinger's son began preparing
his father's remaining writings
for publication back in 2010
announced in 2019 they will
all be published but no news
since fans waiting since 1951
when 'The Catcher in the Rye'
was published mostly passed
the next novel is still pending....
it should have been
publish or don't publish
not decades baiting fans...
