Jaimee-Lee Poem by Kirstie Duekett

Jaimee-Lee

In this short time of knowing you, I have opened up to you,
but it wasn't all that easy, you have no clue.
It's like you put a nail in the brick wall around my heart,
the wall just fell down and I feel so much better now even though it's only a start.
You have taught me many strategies,
to deal with things that felt like tragedies.
I thought my life was going no where,
that in life no one would ever care.
I didn't understand that things were wrong,
it had been my life for so long.
I don't regret ending up here, it was suppose to be,
I think it was destiny.
Thank you for all the help during the night,
for turning things around into a better light.
