January's Rain Poem by Stan Rodriguez

January's Rain

Rating: 5.0

January's rain and heavy snow
cause me remembrances
of empty rooms and lonely nights.

Rituals played in midnight dreams
unnerving thoughts of forget-me-nots.

Hidden ghosts that travel in my sleep
run over every inch of memory
that's left within this dying brain.

The wind creeps in through silent cracks
beneath my bed
calling out your name.

And my desires look within dark corridors
searching the miles from you to me.

Now looking at the windowpane
as morning breaks the silence with some rain—

Matching all the crystal drops
which overnight have fallen on my pillow.
