Jerusalem: city Of Many Beliefs Poem by Mario, Lucien, Rene Odekerken

Jerusalem: city Of Many Beliefs

Jerusalem stands as a mosaic of faith,
where ancient stones whisper the stories of countless souls.
The sun rises over golden domes and crumbling walls,
casting a soft light on the myriad of paths that chrisscross this sacred land.
Each step resonates with the echoes of prayers-
Christian hymns blend with the calls of the muezzin,
while the shofar's blast punctuates the air,
marking time in a city where history breathes.

Here, the Western Wall cradles hopes written on scraps of paper,
and the Al-Aqsa Mosque invites reflection and reverence.
The church of the Holy Sepulchre
draws pilgrims who seek solace in its shadowed halls.
Amidst this sacred chaos, the air is thick with longing and connection,
a shared yearning that transcends boundaries.

In the bustling markets,
faith interwines with daily life,
spices and scents mingling with whispers of devotion.
Strangers exchange glances,
each carrying their own beliefs,
yet united by the palpable pulse of a city that holds the weight of the divine.
Jerusalem, a crucible of faith,
a tapestry woven with the threads of many hearts, stands timeless,
inviting all to seek their truth within its sacred embrace.
