John Lennon Poem by Edmund V. Strolis

John Lennon

Rating: 5.0

They tried to label you, disable you, squeeze you and what's more.
They tried to resurrect you and dissect you and the woman you adored.
But the labels stuck to them my friend, with their weak self-serving praise.
The hippies and the tripping Maoists, the latest culture slaves.

Left foot, right foot they tried to set the pace.
Divided by their ignorance, silly human race.
Left spin, right spin you watched the wheels go round.
You're forever on the rooftop above Big Apple town.

'All you need is love' you said, a prayer for EVERYONE.
Yet blue meanies will be blue, so much still left undone.
You climbed up Yoko's ladder and found her message 'YES'.
Imagine if we'd listened, and spread that happiness.

As a Libran, I loved John Lennon, a fellow Libran. We are spiritual people and he was one man who wanted peace in all things and fairness in life. It's no wonder he stuck by his woman, she loved him and he loved her. No stronger connection than two spiritual beings sending a message to the world. This practice will be used by many but such a rare genius in wisdom is not easy to find. Never forgotten. God bless you John Lennon. Eddie, thank you so much for remembering and sharing.
