Just A Bird Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Just A Bird

A Sparrow I, In love I am
She sings with a loving heart for him
I wish her songs were mine instead
Here once more must I pretend

She reaches deep within my soul
With a voice so sweet she'll never know
For I am brown and cannot sing
Small I am, To her unseen

Life unfair, for her I yearn
Instilled in mine for her I burn
A dream, a wish to be with her
Compared to him, I'm just a bird
