Just A Dreamer. Poem by Michael Walker

Just A Dreamer.

Rating: 4.0

Although I am a daytime dreamer
living largely in the imagination
in my own world-no television programs-
I am a night-time dreamer too.
I see myself, somehow, and others.
Faces and places; friends and enemies.
I am an actor in the scenes:
I am an observer in the scenes.
There are is romance with glamour,
my preferred type of dream.
At other times I am on the run
from private investigators
who want me to record
my secret life, my own
glimpses into the well.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote a diary every day for fifteen years, but I don't have time for it now. I feel lucky to have having so many dreams in the kingdom of the night. I believe that dreams give an idea of what is going on in the unconscious mind. Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud were right about that, in my opinion.

You have had a very interesting life, Mister! I would LOVE to have visited France. That was my foreign language choice in High School. Someday I hope that you'll translate one of my poems into French! As for dreams, there are books available on how to interpret dreams, and on dreams and their meanings. Sometimes we are working though something, or trying to solve a problem in our dreams. Sometimes we want a happy ending to a sad situation. Or perhaps, in our dreams, we attain something desireable in real life, that has heretofore eluded us.

Thanks for noticing Leah. I only just revised that poem slightly. Best wishes.
