Just A Slow Day - Poem by Michael P. McParland
It's just been a slow day here for me dear,
one of much longing and a weighing heaviness
from missing you badly and all of this waiting.
And then other concerns from other corners
people and things going on in my life.
Just a slow day where I want to be comforted
in your warm loving arms.
I need your sweet comfort and calm to give
this night the full peace that I want.
You are the cure and I miss being able
to at least speak to you.
I so just want to sit with you
and pour out these many things I have been thinking
and so many feelings from life as it's happened.
It is you I want to share with and no other
and I think the slowness today is that
my mind was spinning with thought
and without my sweet Angel dove to say
those things having an understanding ear and mind
I feel lost in a way
and I so long to be with you feeling your warmth
as you tell me that everything is going to be alright.
I'm sorry sweet love for my wired mental ways
it's just been a slow day not even really sad,
just one of needed comfort and someone
who understands and when they don't tries
with all their might to and that was what
I so needed this afternoon.
My Angels arms around me as I just rambled on,
just to be with my Queen and only one.
Worry not though my dear for I am fine
and there are no tears.
It's just an odd and slow night where I would
give anything to curl up in your arms and get cozy
giving you the sweetest kisses all over.
So feel peace in your heart and know I'm alright
and that I am still right beside you holding you
closely and ever so tight.
