Just Making A Statement Poem by Dorsey Baker

Just Making A Statement

She stood on the street
flat footed
hands on her hips
she didn't let nothing out
she didn't let nothing in
she was just
making a statement
she was just making
a statement
she wore
her multi-colored
mini-skirt
high above the knee
she had a very
shapely body
everyone could see
she was just
making a statement
she was just making a statement!
she painted her face
in make-up thick
broke the glass ceiling
when she threw a brick
she was
just making a statement!
