Just One More Day! Poem by Hannah Davies

The sun is rising, ready to whisk me away
Yesterday's the past, it's the start of a new day.
The clouds how they gather all fluffy and white
The birds in the trees chirping so bright.

The breeze feels so fresh upon my face
Take it day by day at a steady, progressive pace.
The grass is grenn, the sky is blue
There's still so much to see and do.

Watch the leaves from the trees as they flutter to the ground
How I wish I was that light, maybe if I lost just one more pound? ?
LIsten to the children playing happily by the lake
I really do want to be happy, don't want it to be fake! !

I watch the planes as they pass on by
How I wish I could fly up that high.
Everything seems so peaceful and calm
I need to feel safe, out the way of any harm.

I sit back and start to reflect
On all of the good things and some of the things I regret.
I remember and am grateful to those who really care
I hate to put them in an awkward position, it's really unfair!

I try to remain positive and that all is OK
How I wish I wasn't hurting inside, there must be another way.....
As the sun starts to set like a big ball of fire
I'm sick and tired of people accusing me of being a liar.

It won't be long before darkness is here
I'm safe in my bed, will no longer let them near.
As I close my eyes and drift away
I'm just so relieved to have made it through another day.
