Just Too Hard Poem by Dorsey Baker

Just Too Hard

when the hooker gets hooked
when the crooker gets crooked
then you know
it's time for you
to go find yourself
a brand new
best friend
when the wind
is too worried to blow
when summer time comes
and you are still
wearing your wintertime clothes
and your hands and
your feet
they are almost froze
then you can tell
that you are still
alive and doing fairly well
don't try to figure it out
because it is
just too hard
addicted to each other
just like a drug
young lovers
cling to each other
lying on a rug
they start to kiss and hug
don't try to figure it out
because it is
just too hard
when your dog starts
to bark
at the security guard
don't try to figure it out
because it is
just too hard
