Keep On, Keeping On Blues Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Keep On, Keeping On Blues

My baby is gone,
I don't know if she's coming back,
She left both her bags but the look in her eye was uncertain,
She left without a word although her feet saw otherwise,
There wasn't a thing I wouldn't do for my darling of mine,
Staring at the walls thinking if they would be the same,
walls that hold bittersweet memories of my lips against hers,
Ol' lord my baby is gone,
The lights that shine throughout the house seem dim,
Lost like the water that rings around the spout before going down the drain,
Stop it baby, I've built myself up only to be pulled apart piece by piece by you,
Hearts aren't meant to be disguarded, thrown to the side without a second look, forlorn to a feeling never felt,
I know shes not coming back,
The shoulders I use to watch with much delight,
Loving you only to find you don't want me around,
One day you'll find once you stop running instead of this limbo you've put me in,
All things about you weren't bad,
Why feel the way you feel,
It's plain you don't want me around,
Bittersweet days that pass without looking back,
You've got to stop
